Advancement and Scoutbook

Cub Scouts earn their rank by completing adventures: hands-on activities they work on in den meetings and at home. Here’s how it works for your family.

At a glance

  • Each rank, from Lion to Arrow of Light, has its own set of adventures.
  • Scouts work on most adventures at den meetings. Some can be done at home with your family.
  • Den leaders track each Scout’s progress in Scoutbook Plus, Scouting America’s advancement website.

How it works

Adventures

See every rank’s adventures and requirements on Scouting America’s Cub Scout adventures page.

Scoutbook Plus

Parents can see their Scout’s progress at Scoutbook Plus. Ask your den leader how they want you to report work done at home.

Awards

Scouts receive the awards they’ve earned at pack meetings.
