Yes. Pack 214 welcomes boys and girls from kindergarten through 5th grade. See Crossing Over to Scouts BSA for what happens after Arrow of Light, the 5th-grade rank.

Kindergarten (Lion) through 5th grade (Arrow of Light). Scouts can join at any point during the year; you don’t have to wait for the start of the school year.

Den meetings (each den is a small group of Scouts in the same grade) are Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM at Matthews United Methodist Church. Pack meetings, with all dens together, are usually on the second Tuesday of the month in the Eagle’s Nest, at the end of the church’s large parking lot. The Pack calendar has every date.

Yes. Come to a Tuesday den meeting or a pack meeting first. There’s no obligation to register just because you visited. Check the Pack calendar for dates, or email [email protected] and we’ll tell you where to go.

Scouting America requires every registered adult leader to complete Safeguarding Youth Training, and Pack 214 follows Scouting America’s youth protection policies at every meeting and event. Pack 214 also asks every adult who takes part, including parents at campouts, to keep their training current. It’s free at my.scouting.org. Parents are always welcome to join us. About $230 per Scout for 2026-27: $154.95 for Scouting America registration plus $75 in Pack dues, which cover den meeting supplies and Scout awards. Every Scout needs a Scouting America medical form (Parts A and B) and a copy of their insurance card, due at their first meeting. Adults who take part need one too. See Medical Forms for who needs which form.

Pack 214 runs on parent volunteers, so we ask each family to volunteer at least 2 hours during the year. That can be anything from helping at one event to becoming a den leader. Families who can’t volunteer can choose a $150 opt-out instead. See the Parent/Guardian Information and Volunteer Form.

Lions (kindergarten) and Tigers (1st grade) do Scouting together with a parent or guardian, called their adult partner, who comes to every meeting and event. See what adult partners do.
