Saturday Evening:
 

5:30 Check-in – One adult will be designated from Pack 214 to check-in for our group. They will receive museum maps, a schedule, and sleeping area assignment.
Please enjoy museum exhibits until orientation
6:45-7:00 Orientation– All scouts, leaders, and parents should attend orientation.
7:00-8:00 Dinner – see below
8:00-9:15 Badge work/activities– by Den (siblings can join den of choice)
9:30 Laser show- Planetarium (optional)
10:00-11:00 Sleep Prep. Lights out! – Lights can begin to go off as soon as Packs are ready

 
 
Sunday Morning:
 

7:00-8:00 Coffee and Continental breakfast
8:00-9:00 Pack up/ Museum Time– PLEASE NOTE: Scouts need to have all gear packed and removed from museum by 9:00am. Leaders should stop by the front desk for camp-in participation patches.
9:00 Camp-in will end. Please have all gear out of the museum by this time. Campers are invited to return to the museum after it re-opens at 10:00.

 
 

  • Please arrive at 5:15 pm on March 22nd to unload luggage, check in, turn in any unfinished paperwork and be ready to enter the museum at 5:30pm.
  • Pack 214 will meet by the main entrance on 3rd street
  • Please ensure all Health forms are turned in to Heath Bixel by this Tuesday, March 18th. 
  • All participants must be 5 years or older to attend the overnight.
  • Smoking and vaping is not allowed during overnights. The museum will not accommodate any guest requests to be escorted outside for a smoke break.
  • All luggage must be out of the museum by 9am on March 23rd. The museum cannot store our luggage if scouts / families choose to visit the museum on Sunday.

 

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do we sleep?
Participants will sleep inside the museum. Each person will need at least a sleeping bag and pillow, and whatever else you feel is necessary to be comfortable. The areas of the museum where we will sleep have concrete flooring with carpet tiles on top in most exhibit areas, and the museum recommends bringing sleeping mats or pads if you think you need that to be comfortable. Some campers change into sleeping attire, while others wear something comfortable in which they can remain all night. There will be emergency lights that will remain on all night so the museum will not get completely dark, if that feels uncomfortable to anyone, we recommend bringing a sleeping mask. Parents – Past experiences have taught us that you might consider bringing a pair of earplugs. 

Will there be activities on Sunday with the Pack?
Saturday night will have activities for the pack organized by Kaleideum. We do not have any planned activities on Sunday. We will have breakfast together and pack up by 9am. Pack 214 families will have open access to the museum all day Sunday to enjoy at their leisure after they have returned their sleepover items to their vehicles. 

Are meals provided?
Overnights include a pizza dinner, light snack in the evening and a continental breakfast with juice and coffee.  If you do bring snack items, they may only be eaten in the cafeteria area of the museum.

The following is a sample menu given to us by the museum, items are subject to change.

  • Saturday Dinner will consist of:
    Cheese pizza or pepperoni pizza (2 slices/person)
    Pretzels
    Carrots with ranch dressing
    Lemonade/water
  • Sunday Morning: 
    Coffee will be available in the snack area beginning at 7:00am for those ADULTS needing to jump-start their morning. A continental breakfast will be provided for all participants.. The camp-in will end at 9:00am.

Where should we park?
There are a number of surface lots and garages near the museum. 

From the Museum: “Kaleideum does not have dedicated parking, but we’ve partnered with the Liberty Plaza Parking Deck (235 Town Run Lane) to offer an all-day parking pass for just $4. These all-day parking passes can be purchased at our Welcome Desk. Otherwise, standard parking rates are $2 per hour.

Parking on the RED level of the parking deck allows for easier and quicker access to the museum!

To use the discount all-day parking pass when exiting the parking deck, follow these steps:
 
1) Scan the ticket you received upon entering Liberty Plaza Parking Deck.
2) Scan the all-day parking pass purchased at Kaleideum’s Welcome Desk.

THE LIBERTY PLAZA PARKING DECK IS NOT FREE ON WEEKENDS”.

What should we bring?
We recommend packing light as you will carry your items a short distance from the front entrance to the area you will be sleeping. Please mark all items with names to avoid mix-ups when preparing to leave.
