  • MUMC Trunk-or-Treat Night is this Sunday, Oct. 29th. Pack 214 is participating.

MUMC TRUNK – OR – TREAT

Sunday, October 29, 2023
From 6:00 to 7:30 pm
Matthews UMC Large Parking Lot (Rain or Shine)

This is a free community event! There will be several family-fun events including games, hot chocolate, popcorn, pumpkin decorating, yummy treats, trackless train rides, and trunk-or-treating through the parking lot where festively decorated cars will be filled with goodies.

Pack 214 has signed up to be one of the decorated cars so stop by and get a treat. Hint: Look for the Piranha Plant from Super Mario!

HORNETS SCOUT NIGHT

Scout Night with the Charlotte Hornet's is going to be a "Buzzing Good Time" on Saturday, November 18th.  Hope your Scouts, family and friends take advantage of the awesome experience.  Scouts will be able to shoot basketball on the Spectrum Arena floor a couple of hours before the game.   Scouts will also get a t-shirt and patch included with admission.

Our friends at Pack 46 are holding a pumpkin fundraiser at the Matthews Presbyterian Church on John Street. 

Please consider dropping by and picking up a pumpkin or two. They come in various sizes and prices.

  3. Is your Youth Protection Training expiring? Please check and complete the training if needed. The completed certificate should be emailed to [email protected].
  4. $50.00 yearly dues. Cash, check or Zelle payments accepted. Checks should be made out to PACK 214

Lions Do Not Meet Tonight!

Tigers
Mayor Higdon will be speaking tonight to the Pack. Then we will begin our Team Tiger activities.

Wolves

The Wolves have special military veteran guests from American Legion Post 235 coming to share their experiences as part of their Duty to Country Adventure.

Bears

Bears will be going outside on a 1 mile hike identifying signs of animals and plants. Dress accordingly and please bring your 6 essentials. If you have a walking stick, feel free to bring as well.

The Weblos are working on the First Responder Adventure.  We have Mr. Cam from the Matthews Fire Department coming to meet with the Den.  For this adventure, scouts need to build their Scout Essentials Pack including the 1st Aid kit we made last week, flash light, sun protection (hat), trail food (snack), Water bottle, and whistle. Plus have a family meeting to go over the Family Emergency Plan.  

AOLs
AOLs will be continuing the Build a Better World achievement. As part of this we will be meeting with Matthews Mayor Higdon.
