SUPER TRIP 2023

Our Super Trip this year will be at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC and will take place on March 10th – 11th. This will be an overnight trip starting at 6pm on Friday, March 10th and then participants will have access to the zoo and garden the next day. Our pack will be sleeping inside in the Discovery Life Center and the zoo will provide meals and activities. Please read the description in the Sign Up Genius and ask questions before signing up. The fee is $75 per participant and refunds are not possible. The DEADLINE to sign up is February 14th.  To sign up, click HERE!

SCOUT SUNDAY
Scout Sunday will be during the 11:00 worship service at the church on 1/22. This is a chance for us to thank the church for their support and to highlight some of our recent accomplishments. Scouts, parents, and leaders are invited to show up in their class A uniforms around 10:30 that morning. However, “a Scout is Reverent” so we ask that Cubs leave their uniform caps at home. We will congregate in the long administrative hallway (closest to Trade Street). We’ll be joined by Troops 39 & 139 and three Girl Scout Troops affiliated with the church. Together, we’ll line up by Scout units and then process into the Sanctuary during the opening hymn of the 11:00 service. Scouts, leaders, and families will have a set of pews set reserved to sit together.

Cubs who are interested can volunteer to be greeters. This means they will stand at the Sanctuary doors in pairs greeting people and handing out bulletins prior to the service. They can receive volunteer service credit for this. I’ve streamlined the process so no one from the Pack needs to attend the rehearsal on Saturday 1/21. I hope more Cubs and families will be able to attend this year. This is a fun morning to celebrate Scouting across our three units and to share with the congregation some of what we’ve been doing. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for your help with this!

Yours in Scouting,
David Wheeler

PINEWOOD DERBY

The Pinewood Derby race is coming up on February 25. Each scout gets a derby car kit and additional kits can be purchased for family members for $5 each.

Interested in helping with Pinewood Derby?
If you'd like to learn for a few years how to run pinewood derby and take over from Dr. Russel, we'd love to hear from you. It takes a few derbys to get it all down. Please speak to Mr. Femenella or Dr Russel if you're interested.

We will also need volunteers on race day (the morning of 2/25) as well as helpers on Friday evening 2/24 to help set up the track. Both opportunities are an easy way to help out the pack and it's very much appreciated.
