SCOUT SUNDAY

Scout Sunday will be during the 11:00 worship service at the church on Sunday, January 21st. This is a chance for us to thank the church for their support and to highlight some of our recent accomplishments. Scouts, parents, and leaders are invited to show up in their class A uniforms around 10:30 that morning. However, “a Scout is Reverent” so we ask that Cubs leave their uniform caps at home. We will congregate in the long administrative hallway (closest to Trade Street). We’ll be joined by Troops 39 & 139 and two Girl Scout Troops affiliated with the church. Together, we’ll line up by Scout units and then process into the Sanctuary during the opening hymn of the 11:00 service. Scouts, leaders, and families will have a set of pews set reserved to sit together.

Cubs who are interested can volunteer to be greeters. This means they will stand at the Sanctuary doors in pairs greeting people and handing out bulletins prior to the service. They can receive volunteer service credit for this. To sign up to be a greeter, please email me at [email protected].

This is a fun morning to celebrate Scouting across our three units and to share with the congregation some of what we’ve been doing. Let me know if you have any questions.

Yours in Scouting,
David Wheeler

SCOUTING FOR FOOD

Mark your calendars:

Scouting for Food is an annual event that takes place over two weekend. On Saturday, January 27th, Pack 214 scouts will distribute door hangers in specific neighborhoods and then the following Saturday, February 3rd, scouts will return to those same neighborhoods and collect the food and bring it back to the MUMC parking lot.

PINEWOOD DERBY

The Pinewood Derby race is coming up on Saturday, February 24. Each scout gets a derby car kit and additional kits can be purchased for family members for $5 each.

We will have a workshop after Scouting for Food on Saturday, February 3rd at noon. Bring your car kit and volunteers (and tools) will be on hand to help with your design.

Interested in helping with Pinewood Derby?
We will also need volunteers on race day (the morning of 2/24) as well as helpers on Friday evening 2/23 to help set up the track. Both opportunities are an easy way to help out the pack and it's very much appreciated. Sign Up Genius coming soon.
