The Cub Scout Motto: Do Your Best!

CUBBY NOTES

December 13, 2022

Pack Meetings: Eagle's Nest
at 6:30 pm.
Last meeting of the year!

CUBMASTER NOTES

Tonight is our last meeting of the year. We will meet as a Pack at the Eagle's Nest at 6:30 pm. Dress warm and bring a camping chair. We will be celebrating with a campfire, pizza, and dessert. Families and siblings are welcome to attend. This is the last opportunity to return the toy-filled Jared Boxes so please bring those with you.

PINEWOOD DERBY CARS

We will also be handing out pinewood derby cars. Each scout gets 1 car. Additional cars may be purchased for $5.

Interested in helping with Pinewood Derby?
If you'd like to learn for a few years how to run pinewood derby and take over from Dr. Russel, we'd love to hear from you. It takes a few derbys to get it all down. Please speak to Mr. Femenella or Dr Russel if you're interested.

We will also need volunteers on race day (the morning of 2/25) as well as helpers on Friday evening 2/24 to help set up the track. Both opportunities are an easy way to help out the pack and it's very much appreciated.

Carolina Raptor Center

As I mentioned at our Pack Meeting last week, as a reward for blowing our popcorn sales goal out of the water, we will be rewarding the Pack with a trip to the Carolina Raptor Center. The trip will be on January 21st at 10 am. Families and siblings are welcome and encouraged to attend. There are spots to have lunch afterwards if you want to bring lunch with you and there are hiking trails and a nature center for you to explore on your own or as dens. Please use this sign up genius so we know how many to expect. There is no charge to you for admission to the Raptor Center. Please sign up HERE.

Jared Boxes – Giving Back

As a Pack service project, we will be making Jared boxes. What are Jared boxes? A Jared box is a small box filled with games and activities that we will donate to our local hospital for children who are undergoing cancer treatment. You can learn more about Jared boxes HERE.

PLEASE BRING YOUR  TOY-FILLED JARED BOXES BACK TONIGHT!

CHARLOTTE HORNETS

Scout Day with the Charlotte Hornets is on Friday December 16th with a tip off at 7pm. Come watch as the Charlottle Hornets take on the Atlanta Hawks. Discounted tickets for families as well as access to the Hornets court from 3pm-3:30pm.

Prior to the game, starting at 3pm Scouts will have the opportunity to shoot basketball on the Hornet's court and get a behind the scenes tour, as well as watch the shoot around at 4pm.  Each Scout will also get a cool patch for coming out to the game.  Register today, see attachment for more details.
