Pack Event @ Sullenberger Aviation Museum – January 11, 2025

We have an exciting and educational trip to the Sullenberger Aviation Museum as a reward for our Cub Scouts' hard work and dedication during the recent popcorn fundraising campaign.

The museum showcases the history and significance of aviation, offering interactive exhibits and engaging displays. The draft schedule for the day is as follows:

10:00: Entrance into the museum (please arrive by 9:45 as we will check in as a group)
10:00 – 11:30: Guided scout program
11:30 – 12:30: Lunch break (please note that lunch will not be provided)
12:30 – ?: Exploration of exhibits and interactive displays

Parents are strongly encouraged to remain with their scouts. The Pack will pay for admission for all scouts and leaders. Parents and siblings that would like to join can sign up for a reduced group rate ($5 per non scout adult or child). Please use the sign-up genius link below to sign up all scouts and their family members.

AOL Lockout – January 17th – 18th

The AOLs are having a Lock-Out with Troop 39 from January 17 – 18. If you have not sent the permission slip, this is your last chance to sign up.

Payments can be made online and permission slips can be emailed until 1/6 as we have to have final numbers to all companies on 1/7.

We have a fun night planned that includes waterslides, lots of games, and a little disco dancing. Please contact Laura Gallant or Tom Baysinger for the permission slip for the January 17th overnight with all the need to know information including dates, times, cost, and activities.

The troop is testing out an online platform to take payments for this trip. This permission slip MUST be printed, completed, and turned in along with payment made in full to secure a spot.

To make an online payment(*service fee applies)  visit
https://lockout-2025.cheddarup.com or text LOCKOUT25 to 234-324-3332 and select the Pack 214 option.

**If your scout has fundraising credits on their account or wants to attend but this is a financial hardship for you at this time please contact Pack leadership directly.

Pinewood Derby Workshop – February 1, 2025

The Pinewood Derby race is coming up on Saturday, February 22. Each scout gets a derby car kit and additional kits can be purchased for family members for $5 each. If you have not yet grabbed your pinewood derby car kit, there will be an opportunity to pick up kits at the next several week's meetings.

We will have a workshop after Scouting for Food on Saturday, February 1st – immediately after the collection of donated food. Bring your car kit and volunteers (and tools) will be on hand to help with your design. More details to follow in coming weeks.

Interested in helping with Pinewood Derby?
We will also need volunteers on race day (the morning of 2/22) as well as helpers on Friday evening 2/21 to help set up the track. Both opportunities are an easy way to help out the pack and it's very much appreciated. Sign Up Genius coming soon. Chad Lloyd is the Pinewood Derby Coordinator for the Pack ([email protected])

Scouting for Food – January 25, 2025 and February 1, 2025

Mark your calendars!

Scouting for Food is our annual food-collection drive that helps us support those in need in our communities, while helping our Scouts practice, live out, and experience the "help other people at all times" ideals of the Scout Oath and Law.

We look for 100% participation from the pack for this Scouting service project, so please join us if you are able.

On Saturday, January 25, we will meet up at 9:00 am in the MUMC parking lot in front of the Eagle's Nest. Families will collect neighborhood maps and door hangers to deliver in predetermined neighborhoods.

Donuts, coffee and milk/juice will be provided.

When you arrive, our Scouting for Food Chairperson – Heath Bixel will provide you with your route map and door hangers for you to distribute that morning to all of the houses on your route. There is no need to knock or say anything, just hang the flyer and go. (You do not need to return to the MUMC after you distribute the door hangers!).

The following weekend, February 1, AFTER 9:00 am, you will return to your same neighborhood to collect the food before driving back to the MUMC parking lot where the food will be unloaded and collected.

On average, the time requested for each day (1/25 and 2/1) is around 30 minutes to 1 hour.
