The Cub Scout Motto: Do Your Best!

CUBBY NOTES

September 17, 2024

Den Meeting
Matthews United Methodist Church Commons
6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Cubmaster Notes:

Our scouts are doing an amazing job with popcorn sales. We should be able to wrap up our fundraiser in September. This is amazing accomplishement and several weeks ahead of where we were last year. We'll have some show and sell skits from some of our scouts to make sure we're getting the most out of the show and sells.

All SCOUTS should have received an information folder; be sure to fill out the forms on the right side labeled "return" and submit them in the folder, along with your $50 dues at your earliest convenience. All Paperwork should be turned in and dues paid by September 24. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to Stephanie.

In the Newsletter this week:

  • Popcorn Show and Sells Available!
  • Wagon Sales
  • Recharter/Renewal Price Change
  • Cub O'Ree SIGN UP!
  • Pack Calendar

It's Popcorn Time!!!

Click "Weekend Update" to See our Progress!

WOW!!
Total Sales are $17,040!!!

The next two weekends of Show and Sell opportunities are now open, so head over to Trails End and sign up today! If you have already reached your goal, please hold off signing up to give those who are still working a chance to meet their goals. We plan to keep show and sells open through September 29th.

We understand that selling popcorn can feel daunting for some parents, but we’re happy to share that just a couple of show-and-sell shifts can quickly help you meet your goal!

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our Popcorn Kernels at [email protected] or catch them at the start of our meetings. Let’s make this fundraiser a huge success!

Wagon Sales

**FILL OUT THE FORM BELOW TO RECIEVE PRODUCT ON TUESDAY!!**
Unfortunately, we will not be able to accomodate anyone who does not fill out the form. Arrangements can be made with Jessica to pick the product up.

You and your scout can check out popcorn to have products to sell on hand to your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, etc. A wagon sale is where you actually have the physical products to sell and can log sales on the app.  Some have gone door to door and others have set up more of a “lemonade stand” type of popcorn stand within their neighborhoods.

We have 3 combinations available for you to choose from!

Recharter/Renewals

Fall Recharters Are Due!!! Important Note Price Change.

Starting August 1, 2024, Mecklenburg County Council is implementing a two-year lock-in on our council’s participation fee. Combined with the National membership fee, youth registration will be $150

Council youth members who attend Camp Grimes Summer Camp, Cub Scout Day Camp or Webelos Adventure Camp will receive a $25 discount on their registration fee. We look forward to seeing you at Camp!

This decision comes as a result of careful consideration of the rising costs affecting our operations, particularly in insurance, program and camp operations. By locking in this fee, we aim to provide you with stability and predictability in your membership costs while ensuring continued access to our enriching programs and experiences.

At the heart of our organization is a steadfast commitment to youth development. Despite the challenges posed by increasing expenses, we remain dedicated to delivering the best possible value for our members. We firmly believe that scouting offers unparalleled opportunities for growth, learning, and camaraderie, making it an indispensable investment in the development of our youth.
