The Importance of Parental Involvement in Cub Scouting

Parental involvement is a key component of a successful Cub Scout experience, from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Whether your Scout is just starting out or has been with us for years, having extra adults on hand during meetings and activities provides essential support for the group. Not only do you help guide your child through new and sometimes challenging experiences, but your presence also reinforces positive behavior and ensures that activities run smoothly for everyone.

Cub Scouting is designed to be a family-oriented program, and it’s important to remember that meetings should not be treated as drop-off events. When parents and guardians participate, it strengthens the entire den, fosters a sense of community, and allows our Scouts to get the most out of their adventures. Your involvement makes a difference in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for all.

This registration fee goes directly to Scout BSA and Mecklenburg County Scouting. Each scout's membership is good for one calendar year. When you get an email from Scouts BSA you will need to renew your membership. In addition to the registration fee, Pack 214 has a $50 pack fee. This is the only money our pack gets for each child, outside of fundraising, to run our Cub Scout program.
